Wood procurement
High-quality raw material is the foundation of our products. We use homegrown spruce in our fence posts. This way, we can support local forestry and the people working in it. Since our raw material comes from nearby, it also reduces emissions from transportation.
Chain of Custody
Our wood procurement is covered by the Iivari Mononen Group PEFC Chain of Custody system. The certificate scope and validity are available on our Certificates page. Our PEFC Chain of Custody system provides traceability information for wood materials within the scope of the certificate. Product-specific PEFC claims are stated in the applicable sales documents. The Group holds PEFC Chain of Custody certification for the activities and sites listed in the current certificate.
Locally sourced raw materials
We source spruce from Ireland for our fence posts. Transport distances and modes are monitored as part of our procurement data.
Environmental management and continuous improvement
Our environmental management activities at the sites listed in the certificate are covered by an ISO 14001 certified environmental management system.
The environmental management system provides a framework for setting objectives, monitoring selected environmental aspects and reviewing performance.
In addition to wood procurement, our certification covers the manufacture, impregnation and sales of wooden poles and impregnated timber products in Joensuu (Finland), Ilseng (Norway), Kilteel (Ireland) and Newport (UK).
